Two Somerset students win scholarships

Elizabeth Chapdelaine and Krista Elise Gracia were each chosen to receive a $1,000 scholarship as part of the Somerset Federal Credit Union’s annual ReachOut! College-Bound Scholarship Program.
The program awards its Oliver C. Perry Jr. Scholarship in honor of past SFCU Manager and Board of Directors President Oliver Perry, Jr. Throughout his career, Perry exemplified the credit union’s philosophy of “People Helping People.” The program’s ReachOut! Scholarship honors the spirit of community service that underscores the credit union mission.
Chapdelaine, a Somerset native who recently graduated from Somerset High School, won the Oliver C. Perry Jr. Scholarship. She plans to major in biology at either Saint Michael’s College or Norwich University.
Gracia is the winner of the ReachOut! Scholarship. Also a Somerset resident, she graduated from Bristol County Agricultural High School and plans to attend the State University of New York at Cobleskill. Her goal is to major in ornamental horticulture/floriculture.
