Team wants to ‘green’ up Freetown

According to the legendary Kermit the Frog, it’s not easy being green.
However, a group of Freetown residents might disagree.
 
Recently, the Green Team of Freetown kicked off its initial meeting and has many goals, including becoming a leader in environmental initiatives in the area.
According to members, the goals include joining with other communities to think of joint “green” ventures, educating the public about avoiding pollution and seeking grant opportunities and resources from the state.
Green Team member and Selectwoman Jean C. Fox said the team plans on talking to Dartmouth and Plymouth officials, because both communities have launched green teams and associated initiatives. After that, she said Freetown will likely reach out to area towns.
This could put Freetown among the green leaders in the greater Fall River area.
