SouthCoast Electric Power Group meets April 1
The New Bedford and Fall River Area chambers of commerce will host a meeting of the SouthCoast Electric Power Group, a collaboration of 36 large users of electricity in the New Bedford and Fall River area, on April 1 at 9 a.m. at Rachel’s Lakeside, 950 State Road. The meeting will recap the group’s combined savings for 2009 and update members on electricity contracts and activity for 2010. Representatives of Risk Services Group and Con Edison Solutions will be available to answer questions from members.
The purpose of the SouthCoast Electric Power Group is to help manufacturers and other large users combine electric loads and contract for the purchase of electric power from providers. Members of the group are able to negotiate lower costs for electricity. Over the last three years, members of the SCEPG aggregation collectively saved approximately $12.4 million in electricity costs.
