Somerset sets Fourth of July parking restrictions

Police advise the public that one-side-of-street parking restrictions will be established in the Brayton Point neighborhood and Holiday Lanes-area Sunday night.
Police restrict parking and traffic in these areas each Fourth of July because of the many people who go there to watch the fireworks launched from Heritage State Park in Fall River.
“The restrictions are necessary to ensure that public safety vehicles can access the neighborhoods in the areas in the event of an emergency,”  said Police Chief Joseph Ferreira.
The ban will begin at 6 p.m. It will continue until the fireworks are over and the neighborhoods are clear of traffic.
Should the fireworks be rescheduled for Monday, July 5, due to inclement weather, the restrictions will apply to that night.
The restrictions include:
No parking on the south side of Ripley Street, west side of Massasoit Street, north side of Pocasset Street, east side of Anawan Street, south side of O’Neil Road from [...]
