Police: Disabled man beaten, robbed in Columbus Park

 A disabled 52-year-old man was robbed of his wallet while walking through Columbus Park Sunday at 9:30 p.m.
“Our officers got a call about a disturbance,” Detective J.D. Costa said.
“Officers David Reed and David McElroy arrived and found a man who was bleeding from his mouth and had a cut on his nose.
The man said a stranger approached him and demanded everything he had of value, police report.
When he did not immediately comply, the stranger punched him in the face, the man told police.
At that point the man turned over his cell phone and a small amount of cash — all that he carried in his wallet, police report.
The robber was described to the police as a heavy white man with brown hair. The robber was gone when police arrived.
The man who was robbed was taken to Charlton Memorial Hospital for treatment of cuts and bruises.
