Man pleads guilty to home invasion
A man who stole $300 during a home invasion and held a knife to the resident’s throat will spend the next six years in a state prison.
Bristol County District Attorney spokesman Gregg Miliote said Jonathan Baez Garcia, 19, of 350 E. Main St., pleaded guilty to charges of home invasion, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, armed-masked robbery and armed assault with intent to rob. Garcia was sentenced to six years in prison and three years of supervised probation upon release by Superior Court Judge Francis McIntyre.
Garcia knocked on the door of the home at 224 E. Main St. on Jan. 21 at about 11:30 p.m. When the occupants opened the door, Garcia immediately entered, held a knife to the victim’s throat and demanded money. One victim suffered a minor cut to his throat, while another victim was cut on his hand.
