Luttrell mulls options against Somerset School Committee
Town Administrator Dennis Luttrell said he’s waiting to see what the School Committee does before deciding whether to file a complaint with the state concerning what he says is his illegal exclusion from School Committee meetings.
“I’m still contemplating it,” Luttrell said.
The School Committee has a memorandum of agreement with the teachers union, an agreement allowing for raises that Luttrell and the Board of Selectmen say are ill-advised due to the current economic climate.
“If they decide not to vote the contract, I won’t do anything,” Luttrell said. “If they do vote the contract, then that option is wide open.”
Luttrell said he has two separate causes for complaint. First, he said he was not invited to meetings during which the School Committee discussed bargaining with the teachers’ union. Second, he said he has not received full minutes from the meetings to which he was not invited.
