Lakeville selectman running for Menard’s Senate seat
As he seeks a Senate seat on Beacon Hill, Derek Maksy sees a state in need of change.
Kicking off his campaign, Maksy told supporters at White’s of Westport Wednesday night he is running for the 1st Bristol and Plymouth Senate seat because the state is in need of help and he feels he is ready to provide it.
“We all know where we’re at in this state and we need to see some improvement,” Maksy said. “My goal is bring common sense back to Massachusetts and make it a better home to everyone.”
A member of the Lakeville Board of Selectmen, Maksy is the lone Republican seeking to capture the seat being vacated by Joan Menard, D-Fall River.
He told his supporters his one goal is to do what the people of the commonwealth need of him.
“I’m all there to do what’s right for the public and the taxpayers of Massachusetts,” Maksy said.
