Jacome kicks off campaign for state rep
George Jacome, who twice ran unsuccessfully for Fall River mayor, formally kicked off his campaign for the 8th Bristol District representative seat Wednesday night at White’s of Westport.
Jacome told more than 100 supporters, including family, friends, and current and former elected officials, that the theme of his campaign would be “preventative government.”
Explaining that he inadvertently brought a legal pad from home with his son’s drawing of a superhero, instead of the one with his announcement notes, Jacome said his son’s actually was more in tune with the focus of his campaign.
“This campaign is about family and motivation and inspiration,” he said.
He reminded the audience that there are many issues facing the district, which covers Westport and parts of Fall River, including the Flint and neighborhoods around Ruggles Park and Notre Dame Cemetery.
