FROM THE PULPIT: We don’t know the half of it

When Marco Polo came back from the Orient on one of his many trips, he told stories of the amazing things he had heard and seen. He told stories of the marvelous cities he had visited. Because these stories were far beyond the imaginations of the people to believe what he was telling them, they began to accuse him of lying. They ridiculed everything he tried to tell them of his amazing adventures. And when he was dying at the age of 70, they asked him to confess his lies. It is reported that Marco Polo’s last words on his lips were, “I never told them the half of it.”
