We live most of our lives in a middle place. Neither at a starting point nor at an end point. Perhaps the starting point was when we set some big goal for ourselves: to find a spouse or partner, to have a child, to save enough to retire, etc. But we’re not there yet. Or maybe the starting point for us was some tragedy that has left us broken in some way: The loss of a job, a grave illness or injury we sustained, or the death of a loved one.
