Freetown receives funds for seasonal and H1N1 flu clinics
The town has received $13,584 in federal Center for Disease Control and Prevention grants for administering more than 800 vaccinations this flu season, according to Health Agent Paul R. Bourgeois. The town held clinics for seasonal flu and for H1N1 vaccinations from October to January. The clinics were well-attended.
Bourgeois said town departments contributed funds for the clinics. The highway department, the Board of Health, the schools and the fire department helped contribute more than $1,000.
Bourgeois said the CDC grant funds will be used to offset expenses of H1N1 clinics in the near future.
