Flood cleanup kits available Saturday in Somerset
Emergency Management Director Steven Rivard has announced the availability of free cleanup kits for those whose homes were damaged by last week’s flood.
The American Red Cross donated the kits to the town. They will be available on a first-come,
first-served basis at the Somerset Emergency Management Office, 2435 Riverside Ave., on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Every cleanup kit contains a combination mop/broom/squeegee, a bucket, a bottle of bleach, Pinesol, a multipurpose cleaner and gloves.
In a statement Thursday, the Board of Selectmen said it hopes the kits, coupled with free disposal of flood-damaged household items, will alleviate the stress and financial burdens on victims of the record rainfall.
