Fall River shooting suspect ordered held without bail after arrest

Deshawn Johnson’s bad deed started trouble, but his good deed made it worse for him, police said.
Johnson, 28, of Boston, was ordered held without bail after being arrested and charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting his girlfriend in the neck Saturday at 3 a.m. at Maple Gardens.
Police report they found Johnson kneeling beside the woman, applying pressure to the wound in an attempt to slow the bleeding, when they first arrived.
Johnson attracted attention to himself, police said, by hunching over after rescue workers arrived to take care of the injured woman.
Because of the way he stood, and because he held a towel to his stomach, officers stopped Johnson to ask him if he had also been shot.
Johnson ran, but got only a few steps before being restrained by Officer Dwaine Cabeceiras and Sgt. David Murphy.
