Fall River nuisance property put on notice

The city has declared a group of County Street apratments a chronic nuisance after police spent 143 man hours at the complex in the past 60 days.
Mayor Will Flanagan and Police Chief Daniel Racine Wednesday announced they have notified property owner David Colville, of Weymouth, that his properties at 265, 267, 275 and 277 County St. and an adjoining courtyard, are in violation of the recently passed chronic nuisance properties policy. The declaration comes after police responded to calls ranging from drug dealing and prostitution to a stabbing and a murder in the two-month period.
Colville has 10 days from when he received a certified letter on Monday to respond to the police department and discuss making improvements. When reached for comment Wednesday, Colville said he plans to contact police officials within the required timeframe and refused further comment until he speaks with them.
“I haven’t spoken to them yet,” Colville said.
