Fall River man pleads guilty to reduced charge of manslaughter

A Fall River man will spend the next two decades behind bars after pleading guilty to a reduced charge related to the 2007 death of Jason Glover.
The Bristol County District Attorney’s office announced Monday Christopher Fisher, 24, of Fall River, pleaded guilty to a charge of manslaughter for the Feb. 27, 2007, stabbing homicide of Glover, 28, on Dwelly Street.
Fisher was sentenced to serve 19 years to 19 years and one day in state prison on the manslaughter charge. Fisher was slated to appear in Taunton Superior Court Monday for the beginning of a trial on a murder charge.
Bristol County District Attorney’s office spokesman Gregg Miliote was also sentenced to a 10-day House of Correction sentence on a charge of vandalizing a jail or House of Correction facility.
According to a statement from District Attorney Sam Sutter, the agreement was reached after consultation with the victim’s family.
