Fall River man pleads guilty to domestic violence charges
A city man will spend a year behind bars after hitting an ex-girlfriend and destroying her apartment.
Shawn Dymond, 36, of 301 Quequechan St., pleaded guilty to two counts of assault and battery and a single count of vandalism on the day a trial into the charges was slated to begin.
According to Bristol County District Attorney’s office spokesman Gregg Miliote, police were called to a South Main Street apartment on Feb. 8 regarding a domestic incident in progress. Upon arriving, police found the 31-year-old victim with blood on her forehead and crying.
Police also observed broken glass throughout the home and were told Dymond, apparently drunk, had entered the home to confront the woman about her whereabouts during the day.
