Fall River man charged with New Hampshire stabbing
A Fall River man is facing charges of stabbing another man over a mutual love interest.
Nashua police said Adam Leard, 19, of 2 Maple Gardens, Fall River, was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with first degree assault.
Police accuse Leard of stabbing a 22-year-old in the abdomen. The victim was transported to Southern New England Regional Medical Center and later to Massachusetts General Hospital where he was treated for a non-life threatening injury.
Police located Leard within a common area inside 23 Temple St. and took him into custody without incident. Police said Leard is known to the victim and the alleged stabbing took place “during a heated dispute over a mutual love interest.”
