Cleaning up the Copicut

Sunday was no picnic in the woods for Boy Scout Troops, 15, 50, and 81, and Girl Scouts Troop 1046.
Mayor Will Flanagan presented citations for distinguished stewardship and unusual service to natural resource conservation before they began their challenging day cleaning up the Southeastern Massachusetts Bioreserve.  
With over 150 volunteers, the third annual Copicut Cleanup had its most successful outcome yet to date: nearly 120 cubic yards of garbage collected, including an estimated 140 tires.  
State Rep. Michael Rodrigues contributed to the effort, cleaning up litter on the sides of Copicut Road. A group of Fall River police officers pulled tires out of gas lines.
