Children’s Advocacy Center standing up for victims of sexual abuse

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and one of the local organizations committed to working with victims of abuse is the Children’s Advocacy Center of Bristol County. Since July 2007, the CAC has provided services to more than 800 children and families, despite facing budget cuts that have limited its staff.
“We do so much with so little it’s amazing,” said Executive Director Michelle Loranger-Cruise.
To highlight the work done by the CAC and its crusade against sexual abuse, Loranger-Cruise provided The Herald News with details of an actual case that staffers worked on with a Bristol County family. The names have been changed to protect the identity of the victims:
