Charter adds On Demand for Westport customers

Charter Communications is launching Charter On Demand for Westport digital cable customers this month, with thousands of movies available, many for free.
Charter has added other features including high-definition availability, digital channels and telephone service over the past year. It has also opened a Westport office (at Route 177 and Gifford Road) since selectmen and other officials criticized the company’s service. Hundreds of subscribers signed a petition two years ago urging the town to seek contracts with other providers.
“We made some dramatic improvements to our Westport services this past year,” said Gregory Garabedian, Charter’s vice president and general manager, “and we’re quite confident that
Charter On Demand will be very well received by our Westport customers.”
Charter on Demand is free for digital customers, with new movies costing $4.99.
