Braga Bridge losing a lane

Prepare yourself for a little SouthCoast gridlock.
MassHighway announced Friday that the Braga Bridge will soon be down a travel lane as deleading and preparations for painting continue throughout the winter months.
MassHighway spokesman Adam Hurtubise said the Braga Bridge painting contractor, M & J Painting, will place Jersey barriers on the westbound side of the bridge starting next week.
Hurtubise could not provide a specific start date of the lane closure that will affect the entire length of the bridge.
Interstate 195 eastbound over part of the bridge has been closed for more than a year due to the Government Center work, and Hurtubise said the barriers will be extended across the whole eastbound span of the bridge within the next two to four weeks. “Those lane closures will continue for the duration of the contract,” said Hurtubise, of the project that runs 780 days from this past June. “The project will [...]
