Atlantis Charter School reapproved by state
Parents looking for an alternative to the city’s public school system will continue to have the Atlantis Charter School as an option.
The Massachusetts Board of Elementary and Secondary Education voted to renew Atlantis’ charter for another five years. The school was reapproved along with 17 other charter schools across the state.
“These charter schools celebrated (Thursday) have made an impact on the lives of students and I’m happy to celebrate with them,” Education Secretary Paul Reville said in a statement. “We remain committed as a commonwealth to ensuring high-quality charter schools have the opportunity to reach students in the spirit of innovation and autonomy and our shared mission of excellence for all.”
Atlantis Executive Director Robert Beatty said the renewal is a recognition of what the school has done in the past five years and what it can continue to accomplish.
