AFRICA CALLING: Fall River chemistry teacher delivering medicine, hope in Tanzania
When she gets to Dar Es Salaam and sets foot on Tanzanian soil after two days of travel, Kathy Crosson knows what she will do first.
“When you get out of the airport, you take a deep breath and say: 'This is Africa,'” she said. “You smell the coal fires, the cooking smells and the land. It’s all there and it’s not like any other place on earth.
“I can’t wait. I can not wait.”
At this moment, she is not waiting.
Crosson, of Rochester Street in the Highlands, a chemistry teacher at Bishop Stang High School, was set to begin work this morning in Tanzania with Missions for Humanity, a group she formed to help the people there.
